Friday 2nd May
Friday sees GIFT 2014 kick off in style with a choice of workshop activities to get involved with, as well as a film installation by Martin Sharry, and an intimate performance by Small Items that will take place in a car designed just for you and a friend to experience. The evening then sees GIFT 2014 fully launch with a specially commissioned performance created by York based duo 70/30 Split who will work intensively with current students and recent graduates to create a launch event to remember. This will all then be followed by performances by artists from as far afield as Ireland, South Africa and Newcastle in venues across Gateshead!
Saturday 3rd May
Saturday brings more workshops and performances for you to enjoy throughout the day. Whether you join in with a performance on a mini bus, or a tea party designed to lift your spirits, there are plenty of ways for you to get involved. The evening sees performances by artists from across the UK and Spain, some of whom are testing out brand new material for GIFT audiences, so make sure you take time to meet the artists to share your thoughts on their work.
Sunday 4th May
Sunday sees GIFT 2014 reach its final jam-packed day of events. In the afternoon there will be an opportunity for artists and audiences to get together in a discussion event that will also provide workshop participants the opportunity to share some of the work and ideas generated in the workshops over the weekend. The festival will close with a very special double bill of performances from Glasgow. Come along and help make sure GIFT goes out with a bang!
